Within the field of living beings, the human and the non-human coincide and diverge. This is why both hard sciences and philosophy run into issues when they attempt to draw a dividing line between human living beings and non-human living beings. Therefore philosophy should thematize and focus upon the notion of alterity as radical separatedness which could be intended as the essence of living being themselves.
