Among the unbuilt projects by Frank Lloyd Wright the Masieri Memorial is without any doubt the most interesting, not only for the particular venetian context in which it should have been realized, and for the complex of the whole story of it, but above all for the particular architectural morphology and for the use of materials that the architect decided in every details.
The first sketches of the design were done in 1953, but Angelo Masieri, who asked Wright to project it, died in the meanwhile, due to a road accident, while he was in the United States to meet the architect. Among all the design hypothesis, we defined three main phases, that could correspond to three important steps of the project.
The aim of the research was the geometrical analysis of the design, the stereometric reconstruction of the various hypothesis, the realistic simulation, the realization of a video animation and the physical reconstruction of a scale model using the Rapid Prototyping technology.
It was possible to realize this project thanks to the original documents come from the Wright Foundation, that allowed to define with great precision the architectural volume and the configuration of interior spaces, but above all the utilization of materials for the final realization.
