Transport sector contributes for an important quote to the anthropogenic carbon-based emissions in the atmosphere, although a precise, localized computation is difficult to realize. In order to try to tackle this critical issue, it is essential to tackle the primary problem of quantifying emissions related to different logistics chains. This paper proposes to develop a tool for calculating the logistic carbon footprint: a synthetic indicator capable of quantifying the total emissions related to a logistic process, which is ambivalently reliable in terms of volume and uniform and standardized in terms of reporting criteria.
