A multifunctional rural system is a network of rural firms providing, as a whole, a diverse portfolio of private and public goods to the local community. Which practises can be effective in nourishing net-working processes among small rural firms? A group of firms was involved in a training programme. It aimed to make communication more effective, improve both interpersonal and firm interaction, manage group dynamics, and develop networking skills.
