“Italy’s foreign policy in the twenty-first century” represents a good empirical analysis of the evolution of the Italian diplomacy after the cold war. All the chapters of the book reflect the several improvements of Italian foreign policy after 1989, even if Giacomello and Verbeek ultimately reach the conclusion that Italy remains an aspiring (and not a real) middle power.
