A scuola di robot: un’esperienza di pensiero creativo

From October to December 2020, the schools of the Foundation Giovanni Paolo I di Mira (Venice) carried out a project for the promotion of the STEAM disciplines, thanks to a call from the Department for Equal Opportunities of the Presidency of the Italian Government in collaboration with the Centro Interdipartimentale per la Ricerca Didattica (CIRD) at the University of Trieste. The interest of the Foundation in the new disciplines started in 2017 to promote and develop creatively the spirit that had led to the establishment of the schools San Domenico Savio and San Pio X almost a century ago. The article illustrates the main activities carried out in the project, which ranged from robotics to tinkering, from coding to financial education and crowdfunding platforms. The initiative, entitled “Granma, did you know that… Elena, Fabiola, Ada and the others”, envisages the implementation of students’ skills along three axes: developing divergent creative thinking, overcoming gender stereotypes related to the STEAM disciplines and fostering an alliance between generations. Finally, a virtual exhibition allowed us to show the main results of the activities. Dall’ottobre al dicembre del 2020 le scuole della Fondazione Giovanni Paolo I di Mira (VE) hanno sviluppato, grazie a un bando del Dipartimento per le Pari Opportunità della Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri, un percorso formativo integrativo all’insegna delle materie STEAM con il supporto e la partecipazione del Centro Interdipartimentale per la Ricerca Didattica (CIRD) dell’Università degli Studi di Trieste. L’interesse della Fondazione per queste discipline nasce nel 2017 con l’intento di continuare a promuovere e a sviluppare in modo creativo, lo spirito originario che quasi cento anni prima ha indotto a fondare le scuole “San Domenico Savio” e “San Pio X”. Il contributo illustra le principali iniziative proposte ai partecipanti, che sono spaziate dalla robotica al tinkering, dal coding all’educazione finanziaria e alle piattaforme di crowdfunding. Tre sono stati i cardini dell’iniziativa, intitolata “Ma nonna lo sai che… Elena, Fabiola, Ada e le altre”: sviluppare il pensiero divergente, superare gli stereotipi di genere legati alle materie STEAM e promuovere un’alleanza tra le generazioni. Al termine dell’esperienza, una mostra virtuale infine ha consentito di divulgare i principali risultati conseguiti.
