Abstract
Only a few charge preamplifiers suitable for use with large area silicon detectors have been realised as integrated circuits. In this paper we present one of them that includes in the same chip both a charge preamplifier and a shaper, dramatically cutting power dissipation, size and cost. The resolution achieved is very good. It is intended in particular for use in Intermediate Energy Physics Experiments. (C) 1999 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
