Abstract
The paper compares three translations of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: the German official translation, a German “shadow” translation done by an association representing people with disabilities, and the Italian official translation. The analysis aims at highlighting the translators’ different choices and, in particular, the solutions proposed by the shadow translation, in order to verify whether they improve the German official translation, but also whether they could serve as a model for a revision of the Italian translation.
