Abstract
Sciama's decaying dark matter hypothesis (DDM) is used to determine the distance of four galaxies whose rotation curves are similar to those of our Galaxy and NGC 891, for which the DDM hypothesis agrees well with observation. A mean value for the Hubble constant is then derived from the observed redshifts of the five galaxies. The value obtained H = 54 +/- 7 km s-1 Mpc-1 agrees well with that derived independently from the DDM hypothesis H = 55 +/- 1 km s-1 Mpc-1.
