This paper describes the collaboration between the Studies in Modern Languages for Interpreting and Translation of the University of Trieste and the Latin American Cinema Festival of Trieste on the use of audiovisual translation for learning and vocational purposes. In particular, film subtitling has been used as an exercise in both translation and interpretation, showing the general features of the audiovisual translation, the constraints of subtitling and some translation strategies. Moreover, it will be illustrated how the corpus Trieste MultiSpIthe has been used for learning purposes. This corpus was compiled with the translations taken from bachelor and master degree dissertations as a result of our students' translation experience for the Festival. In questo contributo si descrive la collaborazione fra la Sezione di Studi di Lingue Moderne per Interpreti e Traduttori dell'Università di Trieste e il Festival del Cinema Latino Americano di Trieste, nei suoi risvolti didattici e professionalizzanti per quanto riguarda la traduzione audiovisiva nelle modalità di sottotitolazione e interpretazione simultanea dei film. Vengono esposte le caratteristiche generali della traduzione audiovisiva, i vincoli della sottotitolazione e alcune strategie di traduzione. Si tratteggia il corpus Trieste MultiSpIt, compilato con le traduzioni estratte dalle numerose tesi di laurea triennali e magistrali frutto della riflessione critica che l'esperienza traduttiva per il Festival ha stimolato e si offre un esempio della sua utilità didattica.
