Attraverso l’analisi dell’epigramma celebrativo De Cynthio poeta e del Cynthii Cenetensis poetae Epitaphium, il saggio dimostra la fortuna e la grande considerazione in cui l’umanista Marco Antonio Amalteo era tenuto nell’ambiente degli eruditi veneto-friulani dell’epoca, grazie anche alla sua conoscenza degli autori antichi non limitata al canone dei classici, fino a includere autori di cui non esisteva ancora un’edizione completa a stampa. By analyzing the celebrative epigram De Cynthio poeta and the Cynthii Cenetensis poetae Epitaphium, the essay demonstrates the good fortune and the high reputation enjoyed by the humanist Marco Antonio Amalteo amongst the Venetian-Friulian scholars of the time, with his knowledge of the authors not limited to the ancient canon of the classics, but extended to authors whose texts were still unprinted.
