Mauro Bertagnin. In questo caso viene descritto il processo di lavorazione della pietra piasentina, brecciola calcarea eocenica usata in tutta l’area del Friuli orientale, secondo le tecniche in uso. In dettaglio, alle fasi di trasporto dalla cava ai laboratori, seguono i passaggi dallo stoccaggio alla suddivisione in blocchi, dai semilavorati al prodotto finito, con riferimento puntuale alle lavorazioni correnti e a quelle proprie di questo materiale, manuali e meccanizzate. This chapter describes the processing operations of Piasentina stone, the Eocene breccia used throughout eastern Friuli, according to the methods currently in use. There are detailed descriptions of the phases of transport from the quarry to the processing facility, as well as the processing steps from storage to primary shaping, and from semi-finished to finished products. Precise references are made to the customary processing techniques used today, including those specific to this material, both manual and mechanized. The work is the result of an ongoing exchange of information with the clients.
