Viene presentata l’idea della nascita e del successivo
sviluppo di una pubblicazione atta a soddisfare la necessità
di comunicare “al mondo” quanto, e in che modo,
andava contribuendo la Commissione Grotte “Eugenio
Boegan” allo sviluppo della Speleologia in Italia. L’idea fu
quella di dare alle stampe una nuova rivista a carattere
tecnico-esplorativo che venne battezzata “Progressione”
e uscì come primo numero nel 1978. Segue l’analisi della
sua storia, della struttura, della sua crescita e diffusione
e del crescente consenso che la Rivista riscuote, specie
dopo la sua naturale apertura agli apporti esterni; inoltre
si descrive l’importanza dell’ “overlook” che oggi la Rivista
possiede nella sua diffusione e sui numerosi temi trattati. The creation and subsequent development of a publication

Cave Commission has contributed to the development of
Speleology in Italy is hereby presented. The idea was to
introduce to the press a new technical exploratory journal
entitled “Progressione” (Progression), whose first issue
came out in 1978. This is followed by an analysis of
its history, structure, development and diffusion, as well
as the growing consensus received by the Journal, especially
after its natural opening to outside contributions; the
important “overlook” the Journal has in terms of diffusion
and the many topics covered is also described.
