This article outlines theoretical and empirical prolegomena to the discourse-analytical study of euphemisms and dysphemisms which appear in the discourse of ‘flexibility’. After giving an operative definition of the euphemisms and dysphemisms and discussing some epistemological and other problems, the article presents an “DiEuphDys-Model” called framework for studying euphemisms and dysphemisms from the perspective of discourse linguistics.
