Intrattenimenti e spettacoli nell’Egitto ellenistico-romano

This essay aims to illustrate the modes and types of entertainments and performances in Greco-Roman Egypt. Dalla documentazione papiracea utilizzata emerge un quadro molto variegato, dal quale risalta l'attività extrascenica degli artisti prima e dopo le loro <em>performances</em> sia negli importanti teatri delle metropoli, sia negli angusti spazi dei villaggi. Completano il saggio due <em>Appendici</em> nelle quali sono raccolti il <em>Corpus</em> dei contratti stipulati dai capocomici con amministratori e privati cittadini, che intendevano ingaggiare le compagnie di artisti per allietare feste e ricorrenze, e un'ampia <em>Antologia</em> di documenti nei quali sono nominati a vario titolo gli operatori dello spettacolo nell'esercizio della loro professione.
