Il confine pre-unitario tra lo Stato Pontificio e il Regno di Napoli fu l’ultimo confine a
cadere col 20 settembre 1870. Ancora oggi vi sono il 50% dei termini al loro posto per
cui è importante conservare questa memoria storica in relazione alla storia socio-culturale
di quella zona di frontiera che attraversava l’Italia da Fondi (mar Tirreno) a San
Benedetto del Tronto (mar Adriatico). The pre-unity border between the Papal States and the Kingdom of Neaple was the
last one after the event of the September 20th, 1870. Today an half of the boundary
pillars are on the territory and this historical memorial must be keeped. This frontier
was a peculiar belt running across Italy, from Fondi (Tyrrhenian Sea) to San
Benedetto del Tronto (Adriatic Sea).
