Abstract
: The P2X4 receptor is involved in immunological and inflammatory processes and potent antagonists are potentially useful for therapeutic, investigational, and diagnostic purposes. This Viewpoint summarizes the discovery of potent and selective P2X4 antagonists that bring researchers closer to obtaining valuable PET tracers for studying the P2X4 receptor.
