Predictions of non-cavitating and cavitating flow on hydrofoils and marine propellers by CFD and advanced model calibration

  • doctoral thesis

Abstract
In this Thesis the CFD approach, combined with an advanced model calibration is successfully applied to the numerical predictions of non-cavitating and cavitating f1ow around hydrofoils and marine model scale propellers. The simulations are carried out with a commercial CFD solver and the influence of the mesh type, as well as of the turbulence and cavitation modelling, on the accuracy of the numerical predictions, is evaluated
