This paper deals with the problems arising in the course-keeping experimental tests performed in a rectilinear model Basin on a towed barge and suggests a new testing procedure. We report and discuss some results obtained in the tests and mention the problem of the barge stopping, proposing a possible and economical solution. In the appendix we describe the equipment that we built and used in our tests.
