Il problema del riconoscimento e dell’identità nelle relazioni familiari

intento di questo contributo è proporre una riflessione sulla famiglia alla luce del riconoscimento e del misconoscimento dell’altro e di se stessi. Facendo riferimento ad Axel Honneth e a Paul Ricoeur, si cerca di comprendere che cosa si intende per riconoscimento e misconoscimento, in che modo si manifestano nelle relazioni familiari, come intervengono nel processo di costruzione dell’identità e nel rapporto che la persona intrattiene con se stessa. Inoltre, si tenta di riflettere sul concetto di alterità insito in ognuno di noi: in noi esiste un elemento di estraneità da scoprire e da accettare per potersi aprire all’altro e per poter considerare l’altro come prossimità e non come minaccia o come qualcuno da dominare. Siamo abituati a pensare che l’altro sia colui che abita uno spazio al di fuori dei confini della nostra identità, ma l’identità è già il luogo della diversità, della differenziazione, dell’incontro: l’identità è personale in quanto situata nell’individuo, ma è sociale nel suo processo di costruzione, implica cioè il riconoscimento degli altri. his essay sets out to offer a reflection on the family in relation to the acknowledgement and the refusal to acknoledge others and oneself. By referring to Axel Honneth and Paul Ricoeur we get to understand the meaning of this acknoledgement and the refusal to acknowledge; how they occur in family relationships; how they influence the identity building process and the influence upon interpersonal relatioships. Moreover, this essay intends to try to consider the innate concept of “otherness” : the fact of being different; there is a dormant quality of being different in everyone waiting to be discovered and accepted in order to be able to open-up by being more communicative and with the consideration of the closeness of others but not as a threat or as domination. We are used to thinking of others as living outside the borders of their identity. However, identity is the places of diversity, variety and meeting, yet, identity is personal as it is individual, though it is social in its building process because it involves the acknoledgement of others.
