Nella protostoria europea, com’è noto, troviamo molteplici figurazioni e soprattutto
elementi singoli – cerchi, ruote, uccelli acquatici, cavalli – riferibili al ciclo solare. Viene
qui proposta una sintetica rassegna delle categorie di oggetti che, con diversa evidenza e
stili diversi nelle varie fasi, ci documentano la vitalità dei motivi solari, fino ad età romana.
Particolare attenzione è dedicata a situle, pendagli e altri manufatti peculiari dell’area
veneto-padana e dei territori alpini. It is well-known that during the Late Prehistory of Europe both depictions and, more often,
single motifs – such as circles, wheels, water-birds and horses – frequently occur with reference
to the cycle of the sun. On the basis of several groups of objects of different styles and stages, the
author aims to briefly illustrate the vitality of sun motifs from the Middle Bronze Age to Roman
times. Special attention is given to situlae, pendants and other artefacts used in the Povalley,
Veneto and Alpine territories.
