The aim of this paper is to analize the linguistic landscape –a concept used in
Sociolinguistics since the nineties– that appears in four tales written by Jorge
Luis Borges (Buenos Aires, 1899) as a part of their narrative chronotopos.
We will study the function that these words exposed in the public domain
can achieve in the narrative plot thanks to an interdisciplinary approach that
links linguistics and literature
