In the field of Elio Vittorini's interest as regards Spanish literature during the Fourties, this essay examines the author's approach to Federico García Lorca, particularly as for "Bodas de sangre" in the years 1941-1942. Vittorini's translation of Lorca's dramatic masterpiece is original and effective, and it tends to simplify the source text according to both Lorca's and Vittorini's conciseness.
