e paper deals with the phenomenon of “profuganze”, strati cations of waves of refugees in a border region, in the view of their translation into spaces, usually in marginal areas. rough case studies and design experiences, we propose a re ection on the one hand about the structures de- signed or adapted to host, assist, control migrants and refugees over time, on the other hand about the forms of resistance enacted by migrants and their choice to live in wild or abandoned places to escape the institutionalized living.
