The article esamines Voegelin's concepts of existenztial and elementary representation starting frpm the formulations present in the first chapte of the New Science of Politics. The analisys highlights the theoretical origin of these two concepts in The Autoritarian State where Voegelin discusses the constitutional structure of Austria after World War II.
