The logic of natural languages, those we speak, appears to be definitely more flexible than Aristotle’s zero-one logic. Is this a weakness or a strength? Fuzzy logic, which mimics natural languages, supports the second alternative. Not only is it successfully used in Artificial Intelligence AI, but it has also brought a remarkable contribution to our “philosophical comprehension” of how human inference and decision-making work. In this paper we discuss the reason why flexible logical tools strengthen the way in which computers work and “think”.
