In this paper some properties on the scalars group S(H) of a hypergroup H are given. Particularly, the relations between S(H), the heart W_H of H and the group H/W_H are presented. The hypergroups having the set of left scalaires different from that of right scalaires are studied. As an application, all the hypergroups with exactly three proper hyperproducts are determined.
