Abstract
Starting from the definition of the androgynous imaginary within Gender-Studies, this article examines two classical and fundamental authors for Romantic literature and philosophy, namely Honoré de Balzac (1799-1850) and Franz von Baader (1765-1841), focusing on specific convergences and analogies between these two authors, with particular reference to the theme of androgynous imagination, mysticism, and magic.
