Given an antenna array of arbitrary configuration, we want to determine a prescribed number M of excitation vectors such that each of the corresponding M array patterns belongs to a given mask, while the amplitude of the radiated field does not overcome a prescribed threshold in a region close to the antenna. We also require that the switching between the M patterns (array reconfigurability) is achieved by phase-only control of the excitations, and that the Dynamic Range Ratio (DRR) does not overcome a given upper bound.
