This paper explores the issue of regeneration of the complex system of fortified infrastructure of the Great War in Trentino. The general aim of this research is to overcome the current sectoral approach - which is aimed at the recovery of individual artifacts - through their re-placing in the landscape-systems to which they belong. With the idea of a territory such as a park, this means to test strategies that highlight the original function of measuring places by enriching nature with artifice, foreshadowing new functions in order to vehicular economic values in the transformations that invest in the territories. The experimental design explores the Alto Garda case, an area rich in traces of the “Fortress of Riva” not yet covered by projects of enhancement, an example of “lake landscape” and a significant part of the larger area of the Trentino-Military Park.
