LA REALIZZAZIONE DI UN PRIMO SEGMENTO DI ITINERARIO TURISTICO DEL CARSO TRIESTINO, MULTITEMATICO, MULTIMEDIALE SU PDA A PDA IMPLEMENTATION OF THE FIRST PART OF A MULTITHEMATIC MULTIMEDIA TOURIST ITINERARY IN THE KARST AREA OF TRIESTE

Il Carso italo-sloveno tra Trieste e Gorizia è noto per le sue peculiarità naturali di morfologia superficiale e sotterranea (fiumi, laghi sotterranei, grotte, foibe), per la sua preistoria (castellieri) e storia (dalle presenze romane agli eventi bellici del secolo scorso). I suoi villaggi di pietra sono stati studiati nella loro architettura da vari studiosi. È, inoltre, sede di interessanti produzioni viti-vinicole. Lo scopo della ricerca è rendere questa specificità fruibile attraverso itinerari ICT su palmare o su telefoni cellulari multifunzione. Esistono vari modi per realizzare ciò: utilizzando prodotti commerciali (Rizzo, 2006 a e b), modificando gli stessi o con software open source (Zorzetti, 2006). Nel caso di seguito descritto è stato scelto di adattare con programmazione originale il software commerciale ArcPad (ESRI) che può essere usato sia nei computer, desktop e portatili, sia su un PDA. In questa nota viene presentato un segmento del Carso triestino tra San Giovanni di Duino e Monrupino, inserito nei programmi di ricerca internazionali e nazionali SISA e ArcheoMedSat. The Italian – Slovenian Karst, between Trieste and Gorizia, is well known for its natural characteristics (rivers, underground lakes, caves, types of dolines), its prehistory (castellieri) and history (from the Romans to the wars occurred in the last centuries). Many researchers have studied its limestone villages with their peculiar architectures. In addition to all this, the Karst region is also interesting for its wine productions. The goal of this research is to make all this enjoyable by means of ICT itineraries on PDA or multifunction mobile phones. There are several ways to reach this goal: implementing commercial products (Rizzo, 2006 a and b), changing them or using open source software (Zorzetti, 2006). In this paper we have chosen to modify the ArcPad software of ESRI with original programming. This latter can be used on computers or on PDA. Here, we present a part of the Karst area of Trieste between San Giovanni di Duino and Monrupino, part of international and national reaserach programs like SISA and ArcheoMedSat.
