Approximations of degree zero in the Poisson problem

We discuss a technique for the approximation of the Poisson prob- lem under mixed boundary conditions in spaces of piece-wise constant func- tions. The method adopts ideas from the theory of ¡-convergence as a guide- line. Some applications are considered and numerical evaluation of the conver- gence rate is discussed.
