La dicitura del titolo “Per l’identità di ekphrasis” non deve dare adito all’aspettativa che questa relazione fornisca una ‘carta d’identità’ elencando le caratteristiche dell'ekphrasis, come i numerosi sommari dei maggiori aspetti teoretici e pratici del fenomeno che già esistono. Si concentrerà, invece, su certe caratteristiche dell'ekphrasis, che potrebbero essere considerate marginali, e che tuttavia presentano qualche problema. La prima sezione si concentrerà su aspetti strettamente filologici, seguita da una seconda con alcuni rimandi alla teoria letteraria. Dunque questa relazione, non presumendo di essere sistematica né esaustiva, contribuisce a definire l'ekphrasis nel quadro più generale della phantasia. The of the title "For the identity of ekphrasis" must not give rise to the expectation that this paper provides an ‘identity card’ listing the features of ekphrasis, as numerous summaries of the main theoretical and practical aspects of the phenomenon already exist. We will focus, instead, on certain features of ekphrasis, which could be considered marginal, and which nevertheless all present a certain problem. A first section will focus on the strictly philological aspects, followed by a second with some remarks on literary theory. Thus this paper, while not presuming to be either systematic or exhaustive, contributes to defining ekphrasis in a broader framework of phantasia.
