Aleksandar Zograf, pseudonimo di Saša Rakezić, rappresenta una delle voci più importanti del graphic journalism in Serbia. Le sue opere sono tradotte in diverse lingue, e in Italia è presente ormai da più di vent’anni, da quando nel 1999 scrisse la sua cronaca quotidiana dei bombardamenti della Nato con Lettere dalla Serbia. Zograf è un testimone speciale degli eventi storici a cui assiste, ma spazia anche in epoche diverse e riserva sempre uno sguardo particolare che istantaneamente ci riporta nei tempi che furono. Partendo spesso da una prospettiva autobiografica con il personaggio protagonista che riprende le sue stesse sembianze ci porta in viaggio nello spazio e tempo, sempre con uno stile originale e riconoscibile sia dal punto di vista della scrittura che del disegno dei fumetti. Questa panoramica insieme alla traduzione di alcune sue tavole a fumetti è un tentativo di avvicinarlo a chi in Italia ancora non conosce le sue opere, che fanno ormai parte della storia del fumetto serbo e europeo. Aleksandar Zograf, pseudonym of Saša Rakezić, represents one of the most important voices of graphic journalism in Serbia. His works are translated into several languages, and he has been known in Italy for more than twenty years, since the publication in 1999 of Letters from Serbia, a chronicle of the NATO bombings which happened that same year. Across his books, Zograf not only depicts contemporary events, but also travels in time and lets us immerse in different eras. Often starting from an autobiographical perspective with the protagonist impersonating the author himself, he takes us on a journey through space and time, always with an original and recognizable style both from the point of view of writing and drawing comics. This overview together with the translation of some of his comics is an attempt to bring him closer to those in Italy who still do not know his works, which are now part of Serbian history and European comics.
