After 10 years of data taking by the Large Area Telescope (LAT) on boardthe Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope, we present an overview of the current status of high-energy gamma-ray astrophysics. Particular emphasis will be given to the broad range of time-domain astrophysics topics studied by the LAT and to the increasingly important multimessenger connections involving gamma-ray sources.
