The aim of the article is to retrace the re-emergence of the sestina form in the poetry of Italian newcomers of the 1980s, both in the recovery of canonical constructive modes and in the highlighting of a sort of «imprint» of the sestina on the construction of endecasyllabic stanzas, recognizable in some less rigidly structured experiences. The authors examined are Patrizia Valduga, Gabriele Frasca, Roberto Rossi Precerutti and Alessandro Fo.
