STUDI ITALIANI DI LINGUISTICA TEORICA E APPLICATA
Abstract
There is an increasing number of studies that analyze Italian and Spanish languages from a contrastive point of view. Nonetheless, we have observed that there are many areas to examine such as, for example, a good part of phraseological units. The publication of this type of studies is more important than ever, especially if we consider the existence of a very vast literature on the comparison of these linguistic phenomena between Spanish and, for example, English, German and French languages. For this reason (but not only), in these pages we will carry out a contrastive analysis of the Italian collocations which include the traditional primary colors (blu, giallo and rosso). In the past we have focused on the collocations with bianco and nero colors. In addition to the above motivation, the present examination has another objective, that is, to ascertain whether in the two theoretically similar cultural universes, the colors blu, giallo and rosso are inserted in very similar contexts or if, on the contrary, there are significant differences in their use.
