The demand arising from future generations has not only a moral but also a legal connotation. It intimates a thorough reformulation of the classical conceptuality based on rights and obligations linked to legal subjects understood as present subjects. In line with the need of such a reformulation this paper, by mainly drawing on the motives of care and guarantee, seeks to discuss some practical jurisdictional instantiations by means of which Ferdinando Menga’s book can be viewed as a source of inspiration and critical appropriation.
