Abstract
The use of bone substitutes has strongly increased in the last decades and there is a need for better filler materials and solutions for more demanding situations. Synthetic bone grafts and bone tissue engineering represent possible alternative solutions to overcome shortcomings of autografts, allografts and xenografts.
