Abstract
The amphiphilic molecule 1 binds lipophilic substrates below its critical aggregate concentration and, in a complex with two Cu(II) ions, is a catalyst for the hydrolytic cleavage of activated esters of beta-amino acids and an inhibitor of that of alpha-amino acids.
