The main purpose of this paper is to verify how foreign languages adapt themselves to the changes in times and, within these, we analysed the features of the political language in Spanish present in the Venezuelan series La Isla Presidencial, as well as some of its most relevant cultural aspects. In addition, we approached the humour and its different types, taking into consideration the new perspectives on the language which are based on the pragmatic dimensions of the discourse.
