In our research, in the framework of media discourse, we observed the linguistic and
pragmatic characteristics of violent and non-violent communication patterns. In language
analysis, the emphasis is on modifying the intensity or power of language, and from
the aspect of pragmatics, we were particularly interested in the perlocutionary effect as
recognized by the addressee. On this basis we propose some language didactics guidelines
for social awareness about effective and nonviolent communication.
