Abstract
The purpose of this chapter aims at describing some recent changes in the social context that cannot be ignored in the social work of community. We are speaking of the rise of the indivdualized society. Social work should therefore cope with this sociocultural transformation adapting to the New Media environment rethinking the traditional concept of community as the present widespread idea of a rising cyber-community.
