В предлагаемой статье рассматри- вается повесть Бромлей о театре «Птичье королевство» (1927), своего рода «театральный роман». Здесь описывается быт театра (весьма похожего на МХАТ-2-ой, где служила Бромлей), увиденный глазами ге- роини–актрисы: труппа, любовный треугольник, соперничество за роль, отношения с драматургом и т.д. , спроецированные на раннесовет- скую политическую и культурную атмосферу. Многие персонажи пове- сти легко узнаваемы, в особенности исторические фигуры: хотя имена их не названы, но за словесными портретами встают Станислав- ский, Мейерхольд, Михаил Чехов и Михоэлс. В портрете драматурга, пишущего пьесу о Христе, угадыва- ется Булгаков. This article examines Bromley’s story about the theater Bird Kingdom (1927), a kind of “theatrical novel”. It describes the life of a theater (very similar to the Moscow Art Theater II, where Bromley played), seen through the eyes of an actress: the troupe, the love triangle, the rivalry for the role, the relationship with the playwright, etc., — all projected onto the early Soviet political and cultural atmosphere. Many characters in the story are easily recognizable, especially historical figures: although their names are not named, Stanislavsky, Meyerhold, Mikhail Chekhov and Mikhoels stand behind the verbal portraits. Bulgakov is guessed in the portrait of a playwright writing a play about Christ.
