Starting from an oral testimony collected in 2018, this study deepens what happened in the Italian region of Trentino in the immediate first post-war period. According to esta¬blished historiography, the first months of Italian occupation were substantially free of conflicts between military and civilians. In particular, the practice of internment would have been used in a few cases. This historiographical assumption, however, is based on a few sources that don’t include some important documents that have not been preserved. Thanks to new archival researches it seems possible to partially deny that the Italian occupation has been lenitent, confirming the direction of the new studies on the subject.
