L’articolo esamina un frammento petroniano dell’Anthologia Latina (AL 464 R2 = 55 Z) secondo l’interpretazione che ne diede Giovanni Pascoli, il quale lo aveva antologizzato in Lyra. Egli accostava il proverbio che l’epigramma contiene a un motto toscano. Pascoli sembra dunque pensare a una collocazione del carme nel contesto erotico del Satyricon (sulla base anche di alcuni epigrammi di argomento omoerotico) ed ovviamente non tiene conto della posizione del carme stesso nella silloge petroniana di Anthologia Vossiana: in virtù di tale posizione, il medesimo epigramma potrebbe essere interpretato quale carme proemiale di silloge, così come sembrano suggerire le probabili citazioni del carme da parte di Plinio il Giovane e di Isidoro di Siviglia. The article examines a Petronian fragment of Latin Anthology (AL 464 R2 = 55 Z) according to the interpretation given by Giovanni Pascoli, who had anthologized it in Lyra. He compared the proverb that the epigram contains to a Tuscan motto. Pascoli therefore seems to think of a placement of the poem in the erotic context of the Satyricon (also on the basis of some epigrams of homoerotic argument) and obviously he does not take into account the position of the poem itself in the Petronian collection of Anthologia Vossiana: by virtue of this position, the same epigram could be interpreted as a proemial poem from a collection, as the probable quotations of the poem by Pliny the Younger and Isidore of Seville seem to suggest.
