Questo breve articolo comincia con una riflessione sul fumetto come genere letterario e sulla popolarità che ha acquisito nel corso del tempo. In seguito, si presenta il graphic novel Бежать нельзя остаться di Aleksej Olejnikov e se ne analizza il contesto sociale e culturale in cui è inserito. Viene esaminato inoltre il legame tra questo libro e le istituzioni internazionali, come l’Alto Commissariato delle Nazioni Unite per i Rifugiati (UNHCR) e russe, come la casa editrice Samokat e il Museo di Arte Contemporanea Garage. Lo scopo di questo graphic novel è raccontare l’immigrazione ai giovani affinché, da un lato, capiscano le difficoltà che devono affrontare i migranti forzati e, dall’altro, siano loro stessi preparati a vivere in una società multiculturale qual è la nostra. Infine si fa un breve riferimento all’architettura e in particolare al Museo Garage, importante per capire perché il libro sia stato presentato in questo spazio. Si conclude con una proposta di traduzione del titolo. This short article starts with a reflection on comics as literary genre and on its popularity in Italy throughout the years. Then it presents the russian graphic novel Бежать нельзя остаться written by Aleksey Oleynikov and analyses the social and cultural context in which it is inscribed. It examines the connection between this publication and institutions: international ones such as United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and russians, as the independent publishing house Samokat and the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art. The aim of this graphic novel is to talk about immigration to young people so that, on one hand, they understand the difficulties that refugees have face and, on the other hand, they grow accustomed to living in a multicultural society like ours. There is a note on architecture referred to the Garage Museum, which is important to understand why this comics was presented in this space. It ends with a note on a possible translation of the title.
