Abstract
The authors noticed later that in the chapter “3.2 Ag permeation through mucous membrane” the unit of measurement of Ag concentrations in receiving phases should be given in terms of ng/cm2 instead of μg/cm2 (as instead correctly reported for flux permeation values). So the statement (lines 293–294): “The final values, expressed as mean and standard deviation, were 12.2 ± 7.4 μg/cm2 and 11.8 ± 11.1 μg/cm2 in cells exposed to AgNPs and to Ag ions (ultrafiltered solution), respectively” has to be changed in: “The final values, expressed as mean and standard deviation, were 12.2 ± 7.4 ng/cm2 and 11.8 ± 11.1 ng/cm2 in cells exposed to AgNPs and to Ag ions (ultrafiltered solution), respectively” The unit of measurement has to be changed in Fig. 3 as well: from μg/cm2 to ng/cm2 The authors want to apologise for the transcription error.
