This essay exposes the book “La democrazia nel XXI secolo” (Democracy in the XXI century) by Vittorio Frosini. After a short summary of the chapters, the paper focuses on four main issues: (1) the statute of human being, resulting from the “methodological individualism” adopted by the author; (2) the philosophical meaning of the “technological society” depicted by Frosini as a “societas in interiore homine”; (3) the role of the “mass democracy” in the “Information Society”, provided that both find their grounds in an absolute concept of freedom; (4) the challenges arising from a moral point of view, and the solution found by Frosini in the “situation ethics”.
