This work uses specific references to document the state of the art of water conservation and the harvesting and use of rainwater in construction, providing an initial framework for further investigation.
A general discussion on water conservation measures and rainwater harvesting is followed by a description of the situation in Italy and a comparison with exemplary approaches in other countries, in order to raise awareness of the problem, supported by critically selected data.
